Findings to be presented at the Council Meeting of September 17, 1990. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 90 -123 <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Mayor La Berge declared a recess at 9:25 p.m. <br />Meeting reconvened at 9:37 p.m. <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />a. Jim Hartnett, 346 Grand Street, Redwood City invited the Council to <br />participate in the almost annual Redwood City Senores and Civic Sluggers <br />softball game at 10:00 a.m. on September 3rd at Hawes Park. <br />b. Richard Schwaberow, 875 Woodside Road, No. 201, Redwood City requested <br />financial assistance for the Women's softball team going to Kingman, Arizona <br />for a tournament. <br />CONSENSUS: It was determined by Mayor La Berge that it was the consensus of <br />the council to consider this request at the regular meeting of September 17, <br />1990 and encourage Mr. Schwaberow to solicit funding assistance from service <br />clubs in the area such as the Kiwanis. <br />MEMO 8/28/90 <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />4a. Legislative Committee Report 90 -3 (301 -06) <br />Councilman Stangel presented the Legislative committee Report 90 -3 <br />recommending the Governor veto Senate Bill No. 2443 (Torres). <br />M /S: Greenalch /Murray to approve the Legislative Committee Report No. 90 -3 <br />and send a letter to the Governor on behalf of Council to outline the <br />city's experience with binding arbitration for firefighters and to urge <br />veto of the bill in the strongest language. <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 90 -124 <br />4b. Councilman Murray thanked Planning Commissioner Ralph Nobles for attending <br />the Water Policy subcommittee of the Regional Planning Committee on his <br />behalf while he was attending the following meeting. <br />4c. Councilman Murray reported on the very productive meeting of people from <br />Redwood Shores, San Mateo County staff, San Carlos Airport managers and <br />representatives from the pilots association to discuss the growing problem <br />of the impact of airport noise on Redwood Shores area. It was discovered <br />that San Carlos Airport has never had noise regulations. Pilots using the <br />San Carlos Airport will implement new rules and do self policing as well as <br />more testing on September 29, 1990. <br />Reg. Mtg.
