EXHIBIT "A" SCOPE OF SERVICES Funding for this agreement has been granted from the San Mateo County Health System, Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services to support the Redwood City and North Fair Oaks Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Partnership. Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center ("PCRC") will work in collaboration with the AOD Abuse Prevention Partnership to build the capacity of youth to be agents of environmental prevention change, to build program capacity in supporting positive family relationships between youth and parents/caregivers, and to increase the number of parents and caregivers with increased knowledge and skills around AOD prevention. Specific tasks for the youth component will include: • Project design for strategic youth work in Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, to include: O Relationship and logistics management, including weekly reports, monthly check- ins, and planning with external partners o Custom curriculum for increased empowerment and leadership of local youth, leading to completion of a youth-led environmental prevention project. O Example topics: team building, youth assets, importance of youth voice and civic participation, locating personal voice, community assets, environmental change, facilitation, communication, public speaking, and youth adult partnership. • Facilitation and training of 30 diverse emerging youth leaders from the community in the above curriculum. • Completion of a youth-led environmental prevention project • Input for the pilot text-based parent education and skills-building project • Collaboration with the John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities to ensure a successful evaluation plan for the above-mentioned deliverables • Attendance at monthly Prevention Partnership meetings • Reporting and data collection requirements, including but not limited to CaJOMS entries • Complete other tasks related to the Redwood City 2020 AOD Prevention Partnership as assigned and agreed upon by both parties Specific tasks for the parents/caregivers component will include: • `Relationship and logistics management with project partners, including monthly check- ins and planning with external partners • 2 prevention-focused, evidence-based Parent Project series for families of 45 youth at- risk of using or abusing AOD O Included topics: Arguing and Family Conflict, Poor School Performance, Truancy and Dropouts, Media influences, Early Teen Sexuality, Teen Drug Use, Youth Gangs, Teen Violence and Bullying, and Runaways • Lead the creation of a text-based parent education and skills-building project • Collaboration with the John W.
