EXHIBIT "A" <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> Funding for this agreement has been granted from the San Mateo County Health System, <br /> Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services to support the Redwood City and <br /> North Fair Oaks Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Partnership. <br /> Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center ("PCRC") will work in collaboration with the AOD Abuse <br /> Prevention Partnership to build the capacity of youth to be agents of environmental prevention <br /> change, to build program capacity in supporting positive family relationships between youth and <br /> parents/caregivers, and to increase the number of parents and caregivers with increased <br /> knowledge and skills around AOD prevention. <br /> Specific tasks for the youth component will include: <br /> • Project design for strategic youth work in Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, to include: <br /> O Relationship and logistics management, including weekly reports, monthly check- <br /> ins, and planning with external partners <br /> o Custom curriculum for increased empowerment and leadership of local youth, <br /> leading to completion of a youth-led environmental prevention project. <br /> O Example topics: team building, youth assets, importance of youth voice and civic <br /> participation, locating personal voice, community assets, environmental change, <br /> facilitation, communication, public speaking, and youth adult partnership. <br /> • Facilitation and training of 30 diverse emerging youth leaders from the community in the <br /> above curriculum. <br /> • Completion of a youth-led environmental prevention project <br /> • Input for the pilot text-based parent education and skills-building project <br /> • Collaboration with the John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities to <br /> ensure a successful evaluation plan for the above-mentioned deliverables <br /> • Attendance at monthly Prevention Partnership meetings <br /> • Reporting and data collection requirements, including but not limited to CaJOMS entries <br /> • Complete other tasks related to the Redwood City 2020 AOD Prevention Partnership as <br /> assigned and agreed upon by both parties <br /> Specific tasks for the parents/caregivers component will include: <br /> • `Relationship and logistics management with project partners, including monthly check- <br /> ins and planning with external partners <br /> • 2 prevention-focused, evidence-based Parent Project series for families of 45 youth at- <br /> risk of using or abusing AOD <br /> O Included topics: Arguing and Family Conflict, Poor School Performance, Truancy <br /> and Dropouts, Media influences, Early Teen Sexuality, Teen Drug Use, Youth <br /> Gangs, Teen Violence and Bullying, and Runaways <br /> • Lead the creation of a text-based parent education and skills-building project <br /> • Collaboration with the John W.
