From:CD-Jessica Manzi
To:CD-Stacy Nicol
Subject:FW: Farm Hill Boulevard Pilot Project Update
Date:Tuesday, October 18, 2016 9:27:38 AM
Attachments:image006.png
image007.png
image008.png
image010.png
Jessica Manzi, PE
Community Development Department
Phone: (650)780-7372
From: Clary, Lloyd (LRCL) [] Sent: Tuesday, October
18, 2016 9:03 AM
To: CD-Jessica Manzi <jmanzi@redwoodcity.org>
Subject: RE: Farm Hill Boulevard Pilot Project Update
I live in upper Farm Hill at Woodhill Estates.
I don’t see a reason for the single lane going downhill until you get down Farm Hill to the McGarvey
area. The upper section is too steep for bicycle use.
If I do the 35 mph speed limit down the hill I often have cars pass me in the median, which creates a
safety issue for me which was ignored in the study. I have seen people use the median further down
the hill as a pass lane too. I don’t like being tailgated, which the single lane pretty much guarantees.
I can see why the minority (owners on Farm hill) would want the center turn lane for ease in and out
of their driveways. And I would expect they are many of your 31 speakers. It would be interesting to
know their addresses.
However Farm hill is a major transit corridor into downtown from 280 and many of those users are
not Redwood city residents so would not be attending your meetings. Even though there are likely
over 1000 of them daily.
From: CD-Jessica Manzi [mailto:jmanzi@redwoodcity.org]
Sent: Monday, October 17, 2016 7:36 PM
To: GRP-Farm Hill Feedback
Subject: [**EXTERNAL**] Farm Hill Boulevard Pilot Project Update
Quick update:
At a special meeting on Oct. 5, the Complete Streets Advisory Committee voted to
recommend that the City Council:
Make the pilot project permanent
8.A. - Page 65
