REPORTTo the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> <br /> From the City Manager <br /> <br />May 6, 2002 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Execution of Agreement for Softball Officiating Services <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />It is recommended that the City Council, by motion, authorize the City Manager to enter <br />into an agreement with the Peninsula Sports Officials Association for officiating services for <br />the Adult Softball Leagues (April 2002 through August 2002) in the amount of $32,336. <br /> <br />Background <br />The Peninsula Sports Officials Association has provided officiating services for the past 26 <br />years. This reduces staff time in terms of payroll and scheduling. Services rendered have <br />been very satisfactory in all sports and we wish to continue this successful relationship. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />The Peninsula Sports Officials Association is the only officiating association that provides <br />umpires for recreation softball leagues on the Peninsula. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funds are available through the league fees paid by participants. <br /> <br />Eric Newby Corinne Centeno Ed Everett <br />Parks, Recreation & Community Parks, Recreation & Community City Manager <br />Services Manager Services Director <br /> <br /> <br />
