Request for a contribution of $10,000 from the Peninsula Celebration <br />Association to support community activities such as the 4th of July <br />fireworks, parade and festival (102-03) <br /> <br />City Manager Smith advised that the Council had approved $8,000 in the <br />Fiscal Vear 1990/91 and Fiscal year 1991/92. <br /> <br />Council requested further information from the PCA including copies of the <br />budget. <br /> <br />Brent Britschgi, former Redwood City Council Member, and Chairman of the <br />Foundation Committee of the PCA advised the additional monies would be used <br />for the fireworks display, and that he would provide copies of the budget. <br /> <br />MIS: GreenalchlMurray to consider this request at the June 15, 1991 budget <br />session. <br /> <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-077 <br /> <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />5. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />a. Councilwoman Buchan reminded everyone that the next Pride and Beautification <br />Committee clean-up is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 1991 in the Rolison <br />Road area. <br /> <br />b. Councilman Murray described his participation in the "Tour de Peninsula" <br />bicycle ride sponsored by the Times Tribune and suggested that next year <br />the route take advantage of the beautiful bike paths in Redwood City. <br /> <br />c. Councilman Murray reported on the proposed budget for the CitYICounty <br />Association of Governments (CCAG) including the 11% assessment for Redwood <br />City; the state mandated studies of an Integrated Waste Management Plan and <br />a Congestion Management Plan; the cost of these studies done collectively <br />(CCAG) or on an individual city basis; and jurisdictional questions <br />regarding County and City projects and services. Councilman Murray will <br />report back to Council with further information.
