<br />RESOLUTION NO. 11513 APPROVING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE <br />CHESTNUT STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT; AND AUTHORIZING CITV CLERK TO CALL <br />FOR BIDS <br /> <br />Adopted by unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />c. Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club Gym Floor (702-02, 1303-07) <br />Report: Community Development Director, April 12, 1991 <br /> <br />City Manager Smith presented the staff report describing the damage to the <br />floor, the importance of the Boys and Girls Club to the community, the <br />club's efforts to seek funds to pay for the damage, and the real possibility <br />the Club may not be able to repay the loan. <br /> <br />Timothy Wright, Hoover Boys and Girls Club Director, agreed the Club would <br />probably not be able to pay back the loan; but, if the City did have some <br />responsibility for the damage and made a payment for same, the Club would <br />repay the loan from those monies. <br /> <br />David Canner, Hoover Boys and Girls Club Treasurer, advised they had <br />received three quotes for the repairs. <br /> <br />Council discussed the important role the Club played for the youth of <br />Redwood City; and, the inclusion in the loan agreement of steps to prevent a <br />similar accident in the future, such as separation of the laterals, a <br />preventive device, andlor a hold harmless clause. <br /> <br />MIS: StangellBuchan to authorize a loan of $60,000 to Herbert Hoover Boys <br />and Girls Club to restore gym floor to usable condition <br /> <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-084 <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />d.
