Presentation of Proclamation in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Civic <br />Cultural Commission (301-04,302-07) <br /> <br />Mayor La Berge presented the proclamation to Chairman Oliver Redington <br />who thanked the Council for their support; introduced fellow <br />Commissioners Rosemary Fischer, Jeffrey Filippi, Betty Moran and staff <br />liaison Sally Hartman; and invited everyone to attend the 20th Anniversary <br />celebration on May 19th, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building and <br />Senior Center. <br /> <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />b. Presentation of Redwood City Plaques honoring Traffic Advisory Committee <br />members for their outstanding service (302-14) <br /> <br />Mayor La Berge and Vice Mayor Bury presented the plaques to Chairman Matthew <br />Leipzig, Members Walter Murry and Deborah McIntosh Wade. On behalf of his <br />colleagues, Matt Leipzig thanked the Council for their support and gave <br />special thanks to staff liaison Traffic Engineer Adam Gee and Administrative <br />Clerk Chickie Okada who provided expertise, guidance and administrative <br />services. <br /> <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />a. Fernando Vega, 321 Spring Street, Redwood City, President of Hispanos <br />Unidos reported on the extremely successful Cinco de Mayo celebration <br />held Sunday, May 5, 1991 in Redwood City and thanked the Council for <br />their support; for the two proclamations presented to him and to Hispanos <br />Unidos; for the professionalism of the Police Department personnel; the <br />patience and understanding of the Fire Department personnel; the <br />assistance of the City Manager's staff; the hard work of the General <br />Services personnel; and special thanks to Mayor La Berge, Councilwoman <br />Buchan and staff liaison Rosetta Johnson for their support and <br />participation. <br /> <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />4. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />a. Vice Mayor Bury requested Mayor La Berge schedule a presentation by <br />representatives of TCI Cable TV in regard to their letter outlining upcoming <br />changes in their service.
