A structure used as storage that consists of 1 light, 1 switch, 1 receptacle, <br />no insulation or wall covering. <br /> <br />Sec. 9.58. SECTION 501 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section 501 of the <br />Building Code is amended to add Section [F] 501.2.1 to read as follows: <br /> <br />[F] 501.2.1 Address numbers shall be illuminated to be visible from the street <br />during darkness. <br /> <br />Sec. 9.59. SECTION 903.2 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section 903.2 of the <br />Building Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />903.2 W here required. Approved automatic sprinkler systems shall be required as <br />provided in Article II of Chapter 12 of the Redwood City Municipal Code for specific <br />requirements. Such sprinkler systems shall also be provided in the locations described in <br />Sections 903.2.1 through 903.2.12 of the Building Code, whichever is more restrictive. <br /> <br />Sec. 9.60. SECTION 1030.4 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section 1030.4 of <br />the Building Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />1030.4 Operational Constraints. Emergency escape and rescue openings and <br />any exit doors shall be maintained free of any obstructions other than those <br />allowed by this section and shall be operational from the inside of the room. Bars, <br />grilles, grates or similar devices are permitted to be placed over emergency <br />escape and rescue openings provided the minimum net clear opening complies <br />with Section 10302 and such devices shall be releasable o r removable from the <br />inside without the use of a key, tool, special knowledge or effort or force greater <br />than that which is required for normal operation for the emergency escape and <br />rescue opening. Where such bars, grilles, grates or similar devices are installed <br />in existing buildings, smoke alarms shall be installed in accordance with Section <br />907.2.11 regardless of the valuation of the alteration. The release mechanism <br />shall be maintained operable at all times. <br /> <br />Such bars, grilles, grates or any similar devices shall be equipped with an <br />approved exterior release device for use by the fire department only when <br />required by the authority having jurisdiction. <br /> <br />Where security bars (burglar bars) are installed on emergency egress and rescue <br />windows or doors, on or after July 1, 2000, such devices shall comply with <br />California Building Standards Code, Part 12, Chapter 12 -3 and other applicable <br />provisions of Part 2. <br /> <br />Window locking and opening devices shall not require any special knowledge to <br />6.4.B. - Page 19
