George Eikerenkotter was the son of August Eikerenkotter, a member
of a well known pioneer family of San Mateo County. He was born in the Town of Searsville around 1860. One of the leading
families of the village was that of Eikerenkotter, who conducted the business of the hotel, store and post office. The town
stood near where Searsville Lake is now and part of the townsite was covered when the lake was formed. George grew to
manhood in the town and after the death of his father, he conducted the business of the local hotel and store until the filling in
of the Searsville Lake. By the construction of Searsville Lake to supply water for Stanford University, the existence of this
pioneer settlement ended. After the abandonment of Searsville, George and his family moved to South San Francisco, but later
moved to Redwood City where he resided until his death in 1930.
SEE CONTINUATION SHEET20.
