<br /> (¡;. 2A~ <br /> 3. Incidental or non-essential work related to the "emergency" job shall be deferred until regular <br /> work hours. <br /> 4. Compensation for the above materials and work completed is included in bid item no. 2 of <br /> the Bid Proposal. <br /> c. Tree planting services <br /> 1. The City plants an average of two hundred sixty (260) 15-gallon street trees throughout the <br /> year (non-drought year) - normally in two planned projects in the fall and spring seasons. <br /> The City also plants a lesser number of twenty-four inch boxed trees. The City will provide <br /> all the necessary trees plus such necessary planting materials such as stakes, tree ties, and <br /> fertilizer. Contractor shall apply all other necessary equipment, labor, and supplies to do the <br /> job. <br /> 2. At the completion of planting work, the Contractor shall update the City's computerized <br /> inventory information for the trees planted. The Contractor shall add the tree and site data. <br /> The contractor may, at the City's discretion, enter the data in a computer program or update <br /> the lists for the City to enter the data later. The inventory data includes: location, species, <br /> planting site width, diameter, condition, health, wires and utilities, sidewalk condition, and <br /> maintenance performed. <br /> 3. Compensation for the above materials and work completed is included in bid items no. 3 & <br /> no. 4 in the Bid Proposal. <br /> D. Stump removal and grinding services as assigned <br /> 1. A stump grinding machine acceptable to the City shall be used for all stump grinding work. <br /> The woody portion of the stump and large surface roots as directed shall be ground to a <br /> typical depth of twelve inches (12") below finished grade. <br /> 2. The stump debris shall be removed from the site so that the remaining site condition is a level <br /> area. All debris removed shall become the property of the Contractor for disposal. <br /> 3. Compensation for the above materials and work completed is included in bid item #5 in the <br /> Bid Proposal. <br /> E. Tree Spraying <br /> 1. The City of Redwood City may perform a dormant spray to deciduous trees during the winter <br /> spray season and a foliar spray to trees during the growing season. Predominant species are <br /> Ash and Sycamore although other tree species may be included. The size and location of the <br /> trees to be sprayed may vary and will be designated by the Director. <br /> 2. The Contractor shall be responsible for complying with all State and Federal regulations <br /> associated with the spraying of pesticides and shall be responsible for providing the <br /> necessary Pest Control Advisor recommendations and reporting for the work. All <br /> applications shall be made per labeled rates or special permits as provided by the County <br /> Agricultural Commissioner's Office. <br /> 3. The dormant spray treatment to be applied to the tree shall be formulated to manage <br /> common foliar fungal diseases as well as over-wintering insects and their eggs. This spray <br /> may typically include a spray oil, a fungicide, and an insecticide with some residual activity. <br /> 4. The foliar spray treatment to be applied to the tree shall be formulated to manage the target <br /> pest - such as aphids or scale, may be systemic, and may include a spray adjuvant. <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br />
