1·B~/3 General Assumptions The overall approach to this work builds upon previous customer retrofit work performed by this team in the bay area and scoping discussions with the City. The underlying general assumptions used to prepare this proposal are summarized as follows. Exceptions are noted in the following section of this exhibit. Limits of Scope · This scope was developed assuming an estimate of effort for various tasks associated with each customer classification. The complexity of customer retrofit work is highly variable and the effort level and associated cost is based on a number of assumptions regarding the availability of existing information on customer sites, level of fieldwork required to document existing conditions, complexity of the existing potable water service configuration, review requirements of the California Department of Health Services, and ability and/or willingness of the customer to coordinate with the City and consultant team, etc. · To closely manage the work and provide accurate reporting, each customer retrofit site or group of retrofits will be treated as an individual project. Labor. effort, direct costs and construction related budgets and actual costs will be accounted for on a site-by-site basis as part of the Project Management Task. · The work under this contract is assumed to be performed over a 42 month period, as the treatment, storage, pumping and distribution facilities are constructed and placed into service. If the work under this contract extends beyond this time period, the scope of services and fee will require amendment. · The assessment of site conditions for hazardous materials is not included. If hazardous materials are encountered during design or construction, addressing these and related issues will constitute a change in scope. Service Provided by the City · The City will provide an individual that will serve as a point of contact between the City and the customer. This individual will assist the customer retrofit team in scheduling site work and construction activities, and in procuring agreements for service and site access. · The City, using its own forces, will design and implement changes to the potable water service pressure in Redwood Shores. The pressure will be increased to approximately 85 psi, to create a 10 psi differential above the proposed recycled water service pressure of approximately 75 psi. This will create potential problems with the services to existing commercial buildings and existing irrigation systems that could require the installation of individual pressure reducing assemblies on services or other remedial work.
