6.1.E. - Page 8 <br />Page I5 <br />In the event of failure to comply with the above-mentioned conditions within a reasonable <br />time after notice, the City will have the defects repaired and made good at the expense of <br />the Bidder, who agrees to pay the costs and charges therefore immediately upon demand. <br />The signing of this agreement by the Bidder shall constitute agreement to the above <br />guarantees. <br />13. WARRANTY <br />The warranty on all vehicles and cab and chassis shall be the standard manufacturer's <br />warranty. The warranty on all service bodies, lifts and other components specified on the <br />individual specifications sheets shall be a minimum of 12 months parts and labor. Bidders <br />should specify any additional warranties offered on specific vehicles. <br />14. DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES <br />It is the responsibility of the Successful Bidder to act on behalf of the City and submit all <br />required registration forms and supporting documentation to the Department of Motor <br />Vehicles in order to obtain exempt license plates for each vehicle purchased from the <br />Bidder. The Successful Bidder will also furnish the Department of Motor Vehicles with a <br />report of sale, smog certificate, the City's exempt registration form (Reg. 217) and all other <br />needed paperwork on behalf of the City. <br />15. PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT <br />The Bidder shall prepare all articles and materials for shipment in such a manner as to <br />protect them from damage in transit, and shall be responsible for and repair all damaged <br />parts or replace all losses incurred in transit to the designated delivery point and not later <br />than the specified delivery date. When necessary, heavy parts shall be mounted on skids or <br />crated, and all articles or materials that might otherwise be lost shall be boxed or wired in <br />bundles. All articles shall be plainly marked for identification and destination. The Bidder <br />shall prepare proper commercial bills of lading 2 (two) copies of which, together with a <br />complete shipping list, shall be sent to Redwood City Fleet, 1400 Broadway Street, <br />Redwood City, CA 94063. <br />16. SHIPPING WEIGHT <br />Each Bidder shall state in his or her proposal the total shipping weight, listing and <br />segregating the individual unit weights and shipping weights, if F.O.B. point of shipment. <br />17. DELIVERIES; DISTANCE; EXTENSION OF TIME <br />"Delivery" is defined as complete delivery of equipment, materials, vehicles or supplies <br />free and clear from any and all claims, debts or demands what so ever to Redwood City <br />Fleet, 1400 Broadway Street, Redwood City, CA 94063. <br />The Bidder's Bid Submission will specify the maximum number of days till delivery to <br />Redwood City, example: 60 days from the date the City mails the purchase order to the <br />successful Bidder. Date ranges are not allowed, example: 90-120 days from the date the <br />City mails the purchase order to the successful Bidder. <br />
