COMMUNICATIONS:
League of California Cities request for names of City Officials
who would like to serve on League Committees during the next year.
Mayor Herkner announced this communication had been answered and recommendations
made by him.
The following communications were submitted to Council from Redwood City Civic
Association, Inc., at 8:00 p.m.
1. Request for status report on the Friendly Acres Water
Company acquisition (Report to also be sent to Mr.
& Mrs. Percy Wilson in Friendly Acres area.)
2. Expressing approval of Council's action in approving
signalization at Woodside Road and Hudson Street,
and suggesting public discussions be held during
planning stages for widening Woodside Road,
3. Request for consideration of review and possible changing
of "P" Combining District of Zoning Ordinance.
City Manager advised he would discuss subject of "P" District with the Planning
Director and thereafter answer this communication. (Memo 11/15/66)
Councilman Henderson questioned possible action concerning report received from City
Manager relating to County Sewage Study, since County had asked this subject be
brought to Council's attention at an early date. City Manager agreed this sub-
ject is of utmost importance not only to Redwood City but also other cities on
the Peninsula, and that a meeting has been set up with Mr. Jenks to go over the
report in depth. He stated in reviewing report submitted Staff most concerned
on some of conditions, primarily in equitable cost distribution, He further
advised of deadline to extension of time for remedy as of December 31st of this
year, but emphasized the need for thorough exploration before decision to be made
on this issue.
Councilman Rosselli asked if Council would consider taking action on Chamber of
Commerce request for a City contribution towards downtown Christmas program,
Councilman Keckley moved that this matter be held over and considered at next
meeting of Council on November 21st in order more details could be given, seconded
by Councilman Bury. Councilman Bury, however, asked Mayor Herkner to suggest
another meeting with Chamber of Commerce Committee in order more detailed informa-
tion could be obtained. Mayor Herkner appointed Councilmen Bury and Petersen to
meet with City Manager and Chamber of Commerce Committee. Motion carried.
(MINUTE ORDER #66-235)
Councilman Rosselli moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried.
Meeting adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
HELEN C. C. MOORE, City Clerk
