A.
B.
EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF SERVICES
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The City of Redwood City (City) seeks to improve the concrete lined sections of
Redwood Creek in connection with the 2017 Redwood Creek Improvement
Project. Over time, some sections of concrete lined channels and box culverts
developed deficiencies such as cracking, spalling, exposed, damaged and/or
corroded reinforcing steel, joint filler deterioration, horizontal/vertical joint
displacements, and wall rotations. The City would like to repair and rehabilitate
these concrete structures to improve their conditions. This project is the first
improvement project for the first year of a multi-year repair and rehabilitation
program. This project involves the engineering and construction services by a
qualified engineering consulting firm. The Consultant will prepare the plans and
specifications, cost estimates, contract documents for bidding, provide bid
support and construction services and prepare the final as -built drawings.
SCOPE OF WORK
In 2012, the City contracted with BKF Engineers to document deficiencies of the
Redwood Creek and its four tributaries. As a result, the City obtained permits
from the US Army Corps of Engineers, California Regional Water Quality Control
Board, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife to work on the improved
portions of Redwood Creek. Upon review and evaluation of identified deficiencies
from 2012 as well as recent creek walks with Public Works personnel,
Engineering staff selected two sections, denoted Reach 1 and Reach 2, of
Redwood Creek for this project.
The following are some issues and deficiencies that need to be addressed for the
selected reaches of the Project. These are deficiencies previously identified by
the City s consultant in 2012 for the Redwood Creek Deficiency Review report.
Some additional photos and deficiencies identified in September 2016 by City
staff have also been included and denoted with an asterisk (*).
Reach 1 (Jefferson Branch):
Waypoint I Observation Notes I Ref.
