The Wood Rodgers Team will prepare minor utility relocation plans for sewer,
and storm drain laterals (small pipes), excluding electrical, telephone, gas, fiber
optic, and other dry utilities, impacted by the channel improvements for the
Project.
To develop construction costs for the project, unit prices will be developed based
upon recent contractor bid summaries for applicable improvement projects in
California for which The Wood Rodgers Team was the Engineer of Record (thus
assuring that the baseline understanding of the bids received are applicable to
the project). The Wood Rodgers Team has designed approximately $75 million
in channel, floodwall, and levee improvements since 2006, providing a
substantial amount of recent, and applicable cost data. Where similar bid
tabulations are not available, industry cost estimating guides, such as Means
Heavy Construction Cost Data, will be utilized. Appropriate adjustments for the
bid date and location of the work will be applied to the estimates.
Specifications will be provided in accordance with the City of Redwood City
standard boiler plate with the technical specifications format as approved in the
Sample Drawing. It is anticipated that the City of Redwood City General
Specification will be used on the project and updated to contain the project
requirements.
Task 4 — FINAL DESIGN (100% DESIGN SUBMITTAL)
The 100% design will address outstanding comments on the 75% Submittal, and
prepare the construction documents for final bidding. The 100 -percent design
submittal is complete upon satisfaction of and approval from the City, which at at
the minimum requires the close-out of all comments received on previous
submittals.
The 100 -percent cost estimate will be presented in the format of the bid
schedule, for preparation of the engineer's opinion of probable cost. The final
engineering calculations shall also include any miscellaneous technical data,
maintenance considerations and catalogue cuts for any special equipment.
Wood Rodgers Structural Engineers will prepare the corresponding Structural
engineering calculations in support of all final design submittals.
The 100% design will comply with utility permitting agencies requirements such
as Department of Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and California
Regional Water Quality Control Board. Wood Rodgers has extensive experience
in dealing and negotiating requirements with these agencies. catalogue cuts,
product literature for all products, and engineering calculations.
The final construction documents will be prepared by The Wood Rodgers Team
for the City to make available to potential bidders. It is assumed that the City will
REV: 12-01-16 RL
ATTY/AGR.2016.325/Wood Rodgers, Inc.
