Councilman Henderson indicated her approval of recommended procedure but indi-
cated her concern that study might not also include estimated costs for a full
secondary sewerage treatment and the five parts dissolved oxygen, and asked if
the study will reflect costs of meeting that standard.
City Manager advised this initial study was on financing only and did not include _
any technical aspects of the Plan as that would be presented later. Motion carried.
(MINUTE ORDER #67-57)
Councilman Rosselli advised he would abstain from action on the following item because
of property interests involved.
Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5325 APPROVING ASSESSMENT
DISGRAM, Lexington Avenue and Vicinity Improvements, seconded by Councilman
Keckley.
Staff report stated under the 1911 Act assessment procedures, this action was
necessary prior to completion of the work. Mayor Herkner asked if unfinished
roadway at intersection of Lexington and Clinton is included and was advised by
the Director of Public Works this intersection was included in the improvements.
He reminded Council also of the City's participation to this Improvement District
in the sum of $6400 which includes improvements abutting along the recently com-
pleted storm drainage facilities along Lexington Avenue. Motion carried on roll
call vote, Councilman Rosselli abstaining.
Councilman Granger moved to introduce Ordinance repealing Section 20.97.2 of the
Code of the City of Redwood City relating to parking on Main Street, seconded by
Councilman Bury. Staff report stated this action repeals the curb parking pro-
hibition on Main Street between Chestnut Street and El Camino which was no longer
necessary since the completion of the Woodside Road overpass and the resultant
reduction of the traffic to less than one-half, and had been recommended by the
Traffic Committee and the Police Chief. Motion carried.
Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5326 ADOPTING FEE SCHEDULE FOR THE
USE OF THE COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES BUILDING, seconded by Councilman Keckley.
Council asked if fees being charged by other cities had been compared with pro-
posed rate schedule and was assured by Recreation Director Morton this had been
done. After further questioning concerning fees and their relationship to groups
qualifying for each fee, which were answered by the Recreation Director, motion
carried on roll call vote.
Councilman Keckley moved to accept the 49er Building as recommended by Staff, seconded
by Councilman Bury and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67- 58)
Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5327 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFI-
CATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF REDWOOD CREEK CHANNEL IMPROVEMENTS, UPTON STREET
TO JEFFERSON AVENUE, GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT 1-65, PROJECT SD -12: AND
AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Keckley,
and carried on roll call vote.
Councilman Rosselli reviewed his previous request that study be made for use of gal- _
vanized pipe for covering creek in improvements proposed for city to lessen costs.
He recommended those interested check installation of such pipes being used in the
Junipero Serra Freeway project. (Memo 3/28/67)
W as '87
