Thereafter, the motion carried on roll call vote, <br />Councilman Henderson voting no. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5594 PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE <br />OF $40430,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF REDWOOD CITY GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. <br />1-64 FACILITIES BONDS, SERIES C; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SALE THEREOF, <br />seconded by Councilman Bury. <br />On question, Councilman Henderson asked for an estimate on cost of maintenance <br />of parks for the $223,000 proposed to be used from these bond funds. City <br />Manager advised funding for maintenance will be by coming budget and Staff work- <br />ing on this item now, but that it was estimated maintenance costs would be less <br />than some of present parks in the City because of careful design studies being <br />made for landscaping requiring minimum care with a large return of aesthetic <br />value. Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Henderson voting no. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5595 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING <br />EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR CONSULTING SERVICES (Illumination Engineering & <br />Design) - GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT 1-64, REDWOOD CITY, seconded by Council- <br />man Granger. <br />City Manager's report reviewed request made by Urban Design Committee for <br />consultants specializing in illumination engineering and design for Redwood <br />Shores. He advised such an agreement had been worked out with firm of Charles <br />H. Krieger & Associates, Inc., to study and analyze various designs of illum- <br />ination devices, confer with our engineers, designers and planners; coordinate <br />tests of various light sources, and upon approval by City, to prepare drawings <br />and specifications for competitive bidding for construction of distinctive <br />lighting devices. He reported maximum compensation under agreement is $3,675, <br />and funding available in Street and Highways (Measure B) GID 1-64 Bonds. <br />Motion carried unanimously on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5596 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING <br />ACCEPTANCE OF PROPOSAL FOR PERFORMANCE OF CERTAIN LEGAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION <br />WITH CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS RELATIVE TO REDWOOD CITY GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT <br />NO. 1-64, seconded by Councilman Petersen. <br />City Manager reported on City's present involvement in a condemnation proceeding <br />involving real property controlled by the San Mateo County Scavenger Association, <br />and because of former City Attorney no longer being with the City, recommended <br />City retain an associate attorney to work with Acting City Attorney to represent <br />the City in the "A" Dredge condemnation proceedings.
