· Service laterals will be designed to the customer site and will include piping into
new meter boxes at the property line. Determination of the lateral size and
location will be proYided under the customer site retrofit contract work and will be
coordinated with this project. No improvements on customer sites are included
in this project.
Work Not Included
· Site specific traffic plans and studies will not be performed. The technical
specifications will incorporate the City's requirements and any CEQA
requirements as performance standards for construction, and the construction
contractor shall be made responsible for submitting traffic control plans for
review and approval during the construction.
· Major relocation of existing utilities is not included, unless specifically identified
herein. If utility relocations are identified during preliminary design, they would
constitute "extra work". I ncidental relocation of existing utilities (less than 10 If
per location and less than 8-inch diameter) is included.
City Provided Design Information
· The City has requested that geotechnical investigations be omitted from the
scope of services for this project and that City standard details and specifications
be used for materials, trenching, bedding and backfill in City streets. The City
will provide up to three geotechnical reports for sites within the project area.
These reports, reports prepared for the current SBSA work, and the City
standards for construction of potable water pipelines will be used in the Project
design.
· Soil resistivity surveys, stray current evaluations and other corrosion related
evaluations and design work is not included in the scope at the request of the
City. The City's standard corrosion control specifications and design details will
be used in the Project design.
· Kennedy/Jenks Consultants' design and other work that is based on
geotechnical, soil resistivity and other information provided by the City or others
shall be correct to the best of Kennedy/Jenks Consultants' knowledge and belief.
However, the City will hold Kennedy/Jenks Consultants harmless and assume all
risks and liabilities that arise from incompleteness, inaccuracies and errors in
such information.
City Provided Services
· The City, using its own forces, will design and implement changes to the potable
water service pressure in Redwood Shores. The pressure will be increased to
approximately 85 psi, to create a 10 psi differential above the proposed recycled
water service pressure of approximately 75 psi. This will create potential
Agreement over $10K 12
KennedyJenks Rev-2 112603
