G Cultural Resources
Mitigation Measures: The following measures would be implemented in the unlikely event that
cultural resources or human remains are uncovered during construction of the proposed project:
MM CUL -1 In the event that cultural resources are found, all work within 50 feet of the find will
stop and a qualified professional archaeologist or paleontologist will examine the
find. If the find is determined to be significant, treatment recommendations will be
developed and implemented before earthmoving or construction activities can
recormnence within the designated resource area.
MM CUL -2: In compliance with state law (Section 7050.5 of the Health and Safety Code and
Section 5097.94 of the Public Resources Code), in the event that human remains
are encountered during grading and construction, all work within 50 feet of the
find will stop and the San Mateo County Coroner's office will be notified. If the
remains are determined to be Native American, the Coroner will notify the
Native American Heritage Commission to identify the "Most Likely
Descendant" (MLD). The District, in consultation with the MLD, will then
develop and implement a plan for treatment, study and reinterment of the
remains.
D. Geology and Soils
The following measure would reduce the potential for increased differential settlement to occur on the
project site to a less than significant level:
MM GEO-1 The proposed project would be designed and constructed using standard
engineering safety techniques and would implement all the recommendations
identified in the design -specific geotechnical report prepared for the project in
accordance with the 2013 CBC and other state regulations. The design -specific
geotechnical report, along with the dcsign-level drawings, would be subject to the
City and the DSA review and approval process.
E. Noise
The following measure would reduce temporary construction noise impacts to adjacent residences to a less
than significant level:
MMN01-1
Limit construction to the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays, and 9:00
AM to 5:00 PM on Saturdays, with no noise generating construction on Sundays
or holidays.
Control noise from construction workers' radios to the point where they are not
audible at existing residences that border the project site.
Equip all internal combustion engine driven equipment with mufflers that are in
good condition and appropriate for the equipment.
City of Redwood City 4 Mitigated Negative Declaration
Sandpiper Elementary School Facilities Expansion November 2016
