SECTION 110 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED. Section 110 of the <br />Building Code is amended to add a new Section 110.6.1 to read as follows: <br />[A] 110.6.1 Any work that is covered without an approved inspection, shall be <br />required to be uncovered for inspection. <br />Sec. 9.54. SECTION 115 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section 115 of the <br />Building Code is amended to add a new Section 115.3.1 to read as follows: <br />[A] 115.3.1 Penalties shall consist of administrative citations, misdemeanor <br />citations and/or arrest at the discretion of the responding Building Official, Code <br />Enforcement officer, or Police Officer. <br />Sec. 9.55. SECTION 116 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section 116 of the <br />Building Code is amended to add a new Section 116. 1.1 to read as follows: <br />[A] 116.1.1 Unreinforced masonry, tilt up, or soft story structures that are <br />considered unsafe by the Building Division shall be evaluated by a licensed <br />structural engineer. An engineer's evaluation report shall be provided to the <br />Building Division, a permit acquired and necessary repairs or upgrades performed <br />in a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed one year, to ensure the safety of <br />people during an earthquake. <br />Sec. 9.56. SECTION 116 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section 116 of the <br />Building Code is amended to add a new Section 116.3.1 to read as follows: <br />[A] 116.3.1 Placards. In the event of a disaster, dilapidated buildings or code <br />enforcement issue the Building Official may post placards indicating: Red — Do <br />Not Enter, Unsafe to Occupy; Yellow — Limited Entry; Green — No Restrictions. <br />Sec. 9.57. SECTION 202 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section 202 of the <br />Building Code is amended to replace the definition for "Assembly Area" and add definitions <br />for "Driveway" and "Shed" to read as follows: <br />ASSEMBLY AREA. Any area that two or more people may assemble in any <br />occupancy, such as an office, including a building or facility, or any portion thereof, <br />used for the purpose of entertainment, educational or civic gatherings, or similar <br />purposes. For the purposes of these requirements, assembly areas include, but <br />are not limited to, classrooms, lecture halls, courtrooms, public meeting rooms, <br />public hearing rooms, legislative chambers, motion picture houses, auditoria, <br />theaters, playhouses, dinner theaters, concert halls, centers for the performing <br />arts, ampitheaters, arenas, stadiums, grandstands or convention centers. <br />ATTY/ORD.433/BUILDING CODE ADOPTION <br />REV: 12-19-16 RL <br />Page 5 of 16 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2428 <br />MUFF NO. 305 <br />
