<br /> As noted above, if the cunent compacts are not revised under the first scenario, the
<br /> measure would allow slot machines on non lands. Specifically, under the second
<br /> scenario, the measure allows specified racetracks a�nd card rooms located in Alameda,
<br /> Contra Costa, Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, and San Mateo Counties to operate up
<br /> to 30,000 slot machines (see Figure 1). The measure would allow the sale or sharing of
<br /> slot machine licenses in certain circumstances. The measure also makes permanent the
<br /> limit on the expansion of both the number of card rooms and the size of existing card
<br /> roorns (due to expire in January 2010 under current law).
