I �- � REPORT To the Honorable Mayor and City Council and the Redevelopment Agency Board from #he Ci Mana er and Executive Director September 13, 2004 Subject Final Acceptance — Demolition and Utility Relocation for the Underground Public Parking Garage Recommendation That the City Council accept the improvements for the Demolition and Utility Relocation for the Underground Public Parking Garage, and release the bonds and retention. Background Prior to the start of construction for the new Underground Parking Facility on Jefferson Avenue, the existing buildings on Block 1 had to be demolished and removed. Also, the existing water and sewer lines, and PG&E and SBC facilities on Middlefield Road between Winslow and Broadway, had to be relocated. On August 21, 2003, the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency approved the Demolition, Utility Relocation, and Reimbursement Agreement for the Underground Public Parking Garage with BHV Innisfree Ventures I, LLC in the amount of $1,220,000. Subsequently, on October 27, 2003, the City Council and Redevelopment Agency, by Minute Order (MO RD 03-32), approved Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $150,000 for additional work relating to the utility relocation for a new total of $1,370,000. The work has been completed per approved plans, and budget. Alternative Do not accept the Demolition and Utility Relocation improvements, which will be contrary to prior Council/Agency action. Fiscal Impacts The total amount approved by City Council/Redevelopment Agency, is $1,370,000, which covers all construction, design, staff support, testing and inspection, and management fees for the Demolition and Utility Relocation for the Underground Public Parking Garage.
