I �- � <br /> REPORT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> and the Redevelopment Agency Board from <br /> #he Ci Mana er and Executive Director <br /> September 13, 2004 <br /> Subject <br /> Final Acceptance — Demolition and Utility Relocation for the Underground Public <br /> Parking Garage <br /> Recommendation <br /> That the City Council accept the improvements for the Demolition and Utility Relocation <br /> for the Underground Public Parking Garage, and release the bonds and retention. <br /> Background <br /> Prior to the start of construction for the new Underground Parking Facility on Jefferson <br /> Avenue, the existing buildings on Block 1 had to be demolished and removed. Also, the <br /> existing water and sewer lines, and PG&E and SBC facilities on Middlefield Road <br /> between Winslow and Broadway, had to be relocated. <br /> On August 21, 2003, the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency approved the <br /> Demolition, Utility Relocation, and Reimbursement Agreement for the Underground <br /> Public Parking Garage with BHV Innisfree Ventures I, LLC in the amount of $1,220,000. <br /> Subsequently, on October 27, 2003, the City Council and Redevelopment Agency, by <br /> Minute Order (MO RD 03-32), approved Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $150,000 <br /> for additional work relating to the utility relocation for a new total of $1,370,000. <br /> The work has been completed per approved plans, and budget. <br /> Alternative <br /> Do not accept the Demolition and Utility Relocation improvements, which will be <br /> contrary to prior Council/Agency action. <br /> Fiscal Impacts <br /> The total amount approved by City Council/Redevelopment Agency, is $1,370,000, <br /> which covers all construction, design, staff support, testing and inspection, and <br /> management fees for the Demolition and Utility Relocation for the Underground Public <br /> Parking Garage.
