If handled
and disposed of properly, these small quantities of chemicals would not pose a risk to future site
users or adjacent land uses. (Less Than Significant Impact)

Soil Contamination

Four soil samples were taken from the project site. The samples were analyzed for gasoline, diesel
and oil range petroleum hydrocarbons, organochlorine pesticides, chlorinated herbicides,
organophosphorus pesticides, PCBs, VOCs, semi-VOCs, 17 California Assessment Manual (CAM)
metals, hexavalent chromium and asbestos. The samples also were analyzed for selected soluble
metals. None of the detected compounds exceeded their respective residential environmental
screening criteria. Therefore, construction and operation of the proposed improvements would not
result in a significant impact to the public or the environment involving the release of hazardous
materials into the environment.
