01/23/2017 RESOLUTION NO. 15558 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING A GENERAL PLAN MAP AMENDMENT TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF SANDPIPER PARK PUBLIC FACILITY (PF) FOR THE PUMP STATION AND JOINT -USE OF A NEW SANDPIPER SCHOOL CLASSROOM BUILDING WHEREAS, The City of Redwood City (City) owns a plot of real property located at 797 Redwood Shores Parkway (the "Property'); and WHEREAS, the Belmont -Redwood Shores School District (the "District") seeks disposition of City property in order to develop a new 13,000 square foot two-story classroom building on City -owned property to accommodate grades K -8th for Sandpiper School and seeks to enter into an amended Joint Use Agreement with the City related to such classroom building (the "Project"); and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Redwood City (the "Planning Commission") is empowered by Article Xl, Section 18.60, et. seq. (General Plan Amendment) of the Redwood City Municipal Code, to consider and recommend the amendments to the General Plan to the City Council of the City of Redwood City (the "City Council'); and WHEREAS, on December 6, 2016, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing, in accordance with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance and, in accordance with Redwood City Municipal Code, Section 18.61 adopted Resolution 16-22 to initiate consideration of a General Plan Amendment from Park (P) to Public Facility (PF) in order to accommodate the Project (General Plan Amendment); and WHEREAS, on December 6, 2016, the Planning Commission considered and adopted Resolution 16-23, recommending that the City Council approve a Mitigated Negative Declaration and a Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program for the Project prepared in accordance with the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and WHEREAS, on December 6, 2016, the Commission conducted a public hearing, in accordance with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law, the Redwood City Municipal Code, and the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, and adopted Resolution 16-24 recommending that the City Council approve the General Plan Amendment as illustrated in Exhibit A Attached to this resolution and incorporated herein by reference; and ATTY/RESO.0008/CC RESO ADOPTING THE APPROVAL OF THE GENERAL PLAN -SANDPIPER SCHOOL RESO.
