EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF SERVICES Bartel Associates would provide actuarial consulting services to Redwood City. Estimated Fees — Actuarial Valuation Consultant's fee to prepare the June 30, 2017 funding valuation will be approximately $17,000, including a meeting with the City to review the valuation results. While this represents the likely cost of the valuation, it is possible the valuation may require additional time. Consultant understands the City's budgeting needs and agrees not to bill more than $19,000 for the June 30, 2017 valuation unless the project scope changes and the agreement is amended. Estimated Fees - Accounting Information Consultant will prepare the GASB 75 accounting information for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2018 and June 30, 2019 based on the June 30, 2017 actuarial valuation. Consultant recommends a measurement date of one year before the fiscal year end reporting date to allow work to be completed and ready for audit early. Alternatively, the City could select a measurement date equal to the reporting date which presents more current information. In either case, asset information is needed as of the measurement date, so we will prepare the GASB 75 report when the asset information is available. Consultant's estimated fee to prepare the June 30, 2018 and June 30, 2019 GASB 75 accounting information is $2,000 to $3,000 each for a total estimated fee of $4,000 to $6,000. Fee estimate may be higher if the City wants to have meetings to discuss the GASB 75 reports. Consultant understands the City's budgeting needs and agrees not to bill more than $6,000 for the June 30, 2018 and June 30, 2019 GASB 75 accounting information, unless the City wants to have meetings to discuss the GASB 75 report and the project scope changes and the agreement is amended.
