EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />A. CONSULTANT will undertake the following tasks and described in greater detail <br />below, for preparation of the Initial Study for the proposed project. <br />TASK A. PROJECT INITIATION <br />Project initiation will consist of several tasks, including a CONSULTANT site visit to the <br />project site, preparation of a base map, data gathering, and contacting regulatory <br />agencies. The project description for the Initial Study will also be prepared as part of <br />project initiation subtasks. <br />1. Start -Up Meeting/Site Visit <br />CONSULTANT will meet with the project team to discuss the proposed project and the <br />approach to environmental review. CONSULTANT will also visit the project site to <br />become familiar with existing conditions and site features. Photographs of the site and <br />adjacent land uses will be obtained during the site visit. <br />2. Base Map Preparation <br />A base map of the project site and vicinity will be prepared by CONSULTANT based on <br />information provided by the CITY and/or the applicant. The project base map will be <br />used to illustrate the location of the project and the project site's relationship to <br />surrounding land uses, roads, and key physical features. <br />3. Data Gathering and Evaluation <br />Existing data and analyses applicable to the project site and vicinity will be collected and <br />evaluated. These include the IHSP and its Draft EIR, other background documents <br />obtained from the CITY and/or the applicant, and applicable Redwood City planning, <br />policy, and environmental documents. CONSULTANT assumes that the primary source of <br />background information on the project site and surroundings will be the IHSP Draft EIR <br />and associated technical studies. <br />4. Project Description <br />CONSULTANT will prepare a project description based on materials provided by the <br />CITY. The project description will include a discussion of the key characteristics of the <br />project site and vicinity, details of the proposed project, the approval process, the <br />anticipated construction schedule, and any permits that would be sought as part of <br />project approval. <br />TASK B.
