EXHIBIT "A" SCOPE OF WORK A. CONSULTANT will undertake the following tasks and described in greater detail below, for preparation of the Initial Study for the proposed project. TASK A. PROJECT INITIATION Project initiation will consist of several tasks, including a CONSULTANT site visit to the project site, preparation of a base map, data gathering, and contacting regulatory agencies. The project description for the Initial Study will also be prepared as part of project initiation subtasks. 1. Start -Up Meeting/Site Visit CONSULTANT will meet with the project team to discuss the proposed project and the approach to environmental review. CONSULTANT will also visit the project site to become familiar with existing conditions and site features. Photographs of the site and adjacent land uses will be obtained during the site visit. 2. Base Map Preparation A base map of the project site and vicinity will be prepared by CONSULTANT based on information provided by the CITY and/or the applicant. The project base map will be used to illustrate the location of the project and the project site's relationship to surrounding land uses, roads, and key physical features. 3. Data Gathering and Evaluation Existing data and analyses applicable to the project site and vicinity will be collected and evaluated. These include the IHSP and its Draft EIR, other background documents obtained from the CITY and/or the applicant, and applicable Redwood City planning, policy, and environmental documents. CONSULTANT assumes that the primary source of background information on the project site and surroundings will be the IHSP Draft EIR and associated technical studies. 4. Project Description CONSULTANT will prepare a project description based on materials provided by the CITY. The project description will include a discussion of the key characteristics of the project site and vicinity, details of the proposed project, the approval process, the anticipated construction schedule, and any permits that would be sought as part of project approval. TASK B. CONDUCT ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS Following is a summary of CONSULTANT approach to the analysis of the project's impacts in the topical areas included in Appendix G.
