MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />la. Anti - litter Video shown. (1205 -04) <br />Rene White, Redwood City Pride and Beautification Committee member, <br />presented the background and behind the scenes activity that went into <br />the making of "They Came From Rettil ", the anti - litter video produced by <br />the Pride and Beautification Committee which will be distributed to all <br />Redwood City elementary and middle schools in September 1990. Mr. White <br />thanked Ampex, Bay Area Bank, Leslie Salt, Kennedy School and all the <br />student /actors, technicians and the composer for their interest and hard <br />work. <br />lb. Councilman Claire requested staff to prepare water rationing alternatives <br />for Council to consider which would treat current water conservationists <br />fairly. <br />MEMO 5/8/90 <br />lc. Vice Mayor Bury reminded everyone that the Council, at its Joint Meeting <br />with the Planning Commission on April 30, 1990 did adjourn in memory of <br />Bernice Neilson - Donovan. <br />Id. Councilwoman Buchan reported on the successful clean -up at Union Cemetery on <br />April 26th, the Police Department clean -up of the Woodside Road overpass on <br />May 4th, and the successful Cinco de Mayo celebration on May 6th which was <br />enjoyed by 20,000 people in downtown Redwood City. <br />le. Mayor La Berge reported on the Progress Seminar in Monterey on May 4th <br />through May 6th, the important discussions on "Regionalism ", and the <br />invitation by Menlo Park Mayor Grant to join with the Menlo Park Council in <br />further talks on regional problems and solutions in July. <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />2. Board of Building Review Appointments to two 4 -year terms expiring April 30, <br />1994 (Vote for 2) (302 -08) <br />In response to Council questions City Attorney Schricker advised the Redwood <br />City Municipal Code requires Board of Building Review members to be <br />"qualified by experience and training in the building construction field" <br />and that Council may seek to accomplish this obligation through other than <br />traditional means if special circumstances warrant it. <br />M /S: Buchan /Murray to direct the City Clerk to readvertise for membership <br />on the Board of Building Review listing specific requirements regarding <br />"experience and training in the building construction field ". <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 90 -048 <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 49 <br />Page No. 292 Reg.Mtg.
