02/13/2017 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15561 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY PROCLAIMING THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY A WELCOMING <br />CITY AND JOINING THE WELCOMING CITIES AND COUNTIES <br />INITIATIVE <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is committed to building a neighborly <br />community that is inclusive, hospitable, and welcoming; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City seeks to help people, families, and <br />institutions thrive and to value the contributions of all members of the community <br />including newcomers and immigrants; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is a diverse multi-ethnic community <br />that celebrates and embraces its many cultures; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is committed to continue enhancing <br />its cultural fabric, economic success, global competiveness and overall prosperity <br />for all those who choose to make their home in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City and Redwood City 2020 work <br />collaboratively to promote the health, safety, and success of all, and the inclusion <br />and empowerment of all community members through the Redwood City Together <br />initiative; and <br />WHEREAS, the Redwood City Together initiative brings together <br />community members to build grassroots empathy and understanding and promote <br />welcoming practices throughout the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the collective work of the City of Redwood City and Redwood <br />City 2020 to build a more welcoming and inclusive community enhances the City's <br />Strategic Initiatives; and <br />WHEREAS, Welcoming Redwood City is a community -wide initiative that <br />promotes inclusiveness, mutual respect and cooperation throughout the <br />community; and <br />ATTY/RESO.0012/CC RESO PROCLAMING REDWOOD CITY A WELCOMING CITY RESO.
