B. Insecticide: Contractor will use BorActin (active ingredient: Orthoboric acid 99%) <br />as the insecticide. The insecticide shall be used in the form of a spray. Contractor <br />shall use materials and equipment as specified by the manufacturer's labeling. <br />The City and/or SMCMVCD reserve the right to change the insecticide at any time <br />to comply with new regulations or other factors. Notice will be given to Contractor <br />in a reasonable amount of time specifying what needs to be changed. <br />C. Method of Pesticide Application: Contractor shall service manholes in the presence <br />of SMCMVCD's Vector Control Specialist or his/her representative. Contractor <br />shall notify SMCMVCD's Vector Control Specialist to schedule the event at least <br />two (2) weeks prior to application. <br />Contractor shall apply a band of insecticide to the vertical wall of the sewer <br />manhole shaft two (2) feet wide and six (6) inches down from the lip of the manhole. <br />V. Task 3 & 4: Creek Rodent Control Program <br />The work consists of installing a total of approximately 681 protective bait stations, each <br />containing an eight (8) ounce paraffin bait block, along natural drainage creeks and other <br />areas in the amounts prescribed below. Materials and Equipment: All tools, labor, materials and equipment necessary to <br />carry out this program are to be provided by the Contractor. No alteration or <br />substitution of materials is permissible without the express written authority of City <br />or SMCMVCD. <br />B. Rodenticide: Bromadiolone, diphacinone or bromethalin shall serve as the <br />rodenticide. The rodenticide shall be used in the form of a paraffin bait block, of <br />the type manufactured by LiphaTech Inc. Bait blocks shall consist of one (1) eight - <br />ounce (8 oz.) bait block and shall contain 0.005 percent (0.005°/x) bromadiolone <br />per unit weight. <br />REV: 01-23-20 EI <br />
