EXHIBIT 'A' Scope of Services Task 1: Assist with preparation of technical paper for submittal to and presentation at Integrated Concepts in Water Recycling International Conference to be held in Wollongong, Australia, February 14- 17,2005. The paper is titled: Redwood City Recycled Water Project: From Controversy to Consensus. The abstract for this paper was submitted to the Conference in mid-July, 2004. Conference acceptance of the abstract and call for papers was issued on August 23, 2004. Papers are to be no more than 12 pages in length, and are due to the Conference on September 30, 2004. The papers will be peer reviewed, and final papers will be due on November 30, 2004. The scope of services for this paper includes the following: · Direct the work of various authors, who may be City employees or consultants under separate contracts to the City, in the writing of the paper, and edit/compile the paper into the final manuscript template recommended by the Conference. · Respond to peer review comments, and revise the paper as necessary for final submittal to the Conference. · All work will be performed remotely (in New York City) and via electronic transfer of files. Some mailing of data/files via CD may be required. Conference calls may also be required. · Scope includes attendance at one meeting in Redwood City, California; travel expenses will not be charged for this meeting. Task 2: Assist with preparation of technical paper for submittal to and presentation at the 2005 WateReuse Association California Section Annual Conference Water Recycling: Realizing California's Potential, to be held in San Diego, California, February 27 to March 1, 2005. The same paper for the Wollongong conference referenced above will be submitted to the California conference. The abstract for this paper is due on October 1, 2004. If accepted, papers are due on December 10, 2004, and presentations are due on February 5, 2005. The scope of services for this paper includes the following: · Prepare an abstract of 500 words or less for review and approval by the City, and submit to the conference no later than October 1, 2004. · If the abstract is accepted, edit and reformat the Wollongong paper to conform to California WateReuse Conference requirements. Obtain review and approval by the City, and submit no later than December 10, 2004. · All work will be performed remotely (in New York City) and via electronic transfer of files.
