<br /> DES:dft 12/93 (021/11) <br /> /f20/93R <br /> o RIG I N A L 8/2/93 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2062 <br /> --------- <br />ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING VOLUNTARY WATER CONSERVATION <br />PROGRAM, ENACTING REGULATIONS PROHIBITING CERTAIN USES <br />OF WATER, ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION <br />THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF WATER <br />CONSERVATION LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION GUIDELINES: AND <br />REPEALING ORDINANCES 2018 AND 2037 RELATING TO WATER <br />SHORTAGE EMERGENCY <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. FINDINGS AND DETERMINATION. The Council of <br />Redwood City hereby finds and determines that: <br />( a) Pursuant to agreement dated as of August 8, 1984, <br /> by and between the City of Redwood City, <br /> California, and the City and County of San <br /> Francisco, California, the City of Redwood City <br /> purchases water for municipal purposes and for <br /> resale to customers and users of its water system. <br />(b) As a result of a general prevailing condition of <br /> drought which had seriously reduced the supply of <br /> water available to the City and County of San <br /> Francisco and the availability thereof for resale <br /> to the City of Redwood City pursuant to the <br /> aforesaid agreement, on June 25, 1990, this <br /> Council adopted Ordinance No. 2018 entitled, <br /> "Ordinance Determining and Declaring Water <br /> Shortage Emergency, Establishing Regulations and <br /> Restrictions on the Delivery and Consumption of <br /> Water, and Establishing Penalties for Violations <br /> Thereof", Section 7 of which was subsequently <br /> amended by Ordinances No. 2019 adopted July 9, <br /> 1990, and No. 2037, adopted June 24, 1991, <br /> respectively, (collectively, "Ordinance No. <br /> 2018") . <br />(C) As of February 23, 1993, the Public Utilities <br /> Commission of the City and County of San Francisco <br /> determined and declared that the water shortage <br /> emergency which theretofore had been in effect, no <br /> longer existed in light of precipitation which had <br /> produced stormwater runoff, or snowpack which in <br /> turn would produce runoff, which replenished or <br /> would replenish reservoirs sufficiently to <br /> alleviate the aforesaid water shortage emergency. <br />(d) As a result of the replenishment to the water <br /> supply of the City and County of San Francisco <br /> which serves as a source of water for this City, <br /> -->.- <br />
