Mayor Ruskin read the proclamation honoring seven Redwood City employees for their heroic <br />effort that saved a life. Fire Chief Montez introduced Fire Captain Steve Krause who relayed <br />the story of the event. Captain Krause stated that an emergency medical call was dispatched and <br />while responding, various staff members of Red Morton Center began CPR, directing the Fire <br />Department to the site and obtaining medical history on the patient. He continued that it is very <br />unusual to encounter such a display of employee response to such a medical emergency. <br />Captain Krause, on behalf of the Redwood City Fire Department, thanked and commended the <br />following employees: Jacob Anderson, Chris Beth, Rona Goldstein, Adilah Haqq - Smith, Patty <br />Potter, Eric Newby and Joanne Sanchez. <br />Proclamation - Electronic Arts Donation; (207) <br />Mayor Ruskin read the proclamation and thanked Electronic Arts for their generous grant <br />toward the purchase of a thermal imaging camera which allows firefighters to conduct searches <br />in smoke filled environments or under low light conditions. <br />2. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />David Pedersen requested an update on the proposed skateboard park. <br />3. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the City Council and will be <br />enacted by one motion and one vote. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless <br />a Council Member or Citizen so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the <br />consent and considered in its normal sequence on the agenda. <br />M/S Ira/Howard to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by title, adopt <br />the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. <br />A.
