City Council Presentation <br />March 13, 2017 <br />Bay Road Block <br />Project Sponsorship <br />“Empowering Residents to improve their lives…”–MidPen Housing <br />“Making the Bay Area a place of opportunity for all its residents by promoting access to high -quality education, career <br />pathways, and essential human services…”–The Sobrato Organization <br />•Both MidPen Housing (“MidPen”) and The Sobrato Organization (“TSO”) are locally based organizations with shared <br />goal of enhancing the neighborhood and communities they invest in <br />•Through their respective organizations, many services have been provided to the local communities, such as: <br />Vocational and career development <br />Literacy development and academic enrichment <br />English fluency programs <br />Fitness and health programs <br />Donation of office space for local non-profits, one located in Redwood Shores. <br />Examples of such programs are –the SEAL Program, Boys & Girls Club, Theatreworks, and Legal Aid Society <br />•Combined, both firms have delivered over 8,250 affordable housing units in over 100 communities in the Bay Area
