The Council. of Redwood City does thereupon ordain as follows: <br />Section 1. That a special municipal election be and is here- <br />by ordered and called and shall be held in said City of Redwood City, <br />County of San Mateo, State of California, on Thursday, the 11th day of <br />June, 1936, which special election shall be and it is hereby consoli- <br />dated with a special election in said City of Redwood City for the <br />purpose of submitting to the electors of said City the proposition <br />of incurring a bonded indebtedness of said City for the acquisition <br />of the following municipal improvement of said City, to -wit: a <br />municipal harbor; declaring the estimated cost of said municipal im- <br />provement, the amount of principal of said indebtedness to be incurred <br />therefor, and the maximum rate of interest to be paid thereon; fixing <br />the date of said &lection, the manner of holding the same, establishing <br />election precincts and polling places for said election and appointing <br />boards of election therefor, and providing for notice thereof, the <br />special election called and held pursuant to this ordinance being an <br />election to submit and at which election there shall be submitted to <br />the qualified electors of said City the following propositions or <br />proposals: <br />(a) The proposition or proposal to amend Section 4 of the <br />charter of said City of Redwood City to read as follows, to -wit: <br />Section 4. NOMINATIONS AND <br />ELECTIONS: General municipal <br />elections shall be held in said city <br />on the second Tuesday in April of <br />each even -numbered year under <br />and pursuant to the provisions of <br />the general laws of the State of <br />California governing nominations <br />and elections in the cities of the <br />sixth class, so far as the same <br />may be applicable, and except as <br />herein otherwise provided. <br />All other municipal elections <br />that may lie held by authority of <br />thla charter or of general law <br />shall be known as special munici- <br />pal elections, and shall be hold <br />substantially as in this charter <br />Provided for general municipal" <br />elections; provided, however, that <br />special elections to authorize any. <br />municipal or local public Improve- <br />ment or the levy of assessments <br />therefor, or to create a municipal <br />bonded indebtedness, shall be held <br />in conformity with any genera:V <br />law of the state relative thereto <br />- <br />under which any such proceeding <br />is instituted by the council, in <br />case such general law provides for <br />the indeedure and manner of hold-: <br />Ing elections thereunder. <br />
