<br /> DES: dj J '0/31/88 (#006/7) <br /> DES:djk ~1/10/88R (#006/7) <br /> DES:djk 12/28/88R (#006/7) <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1989 MAR 1 3 1989 <br /> --------- <br />ORDINANCE AMEND ING THE CHAPTER HEADING OF, AND ADDING <br />ARTICLE V TO, CHAPTER 14 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO NUISANCE ABATEMENT <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The heading of Chapter 14 of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Chapter 14. <br />"GARBAGE, RUBBISH, WASTE MATTER, WEEDS AND NUISANCE <br />ABATEMENT" <br />SECTION 2. Article V is hereby added to Chapter 14 of the <br />Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: <br /> "Article V. Abatement of Nuisances <br />"Section 14.70. Purpose. The purpose of this Article <br />is to promote the health, safety and general welfare of the <br />public by requiring a level of maintenance of private <br />property which will protect the habitability, appearance and <br />social and economic stability of the City, and which will <br />protect the public from health and safety hazards and the <br />impairment of property values which results from the neglect <br />and deterioration of property. <br />"Section 14.71. Definitions. For the purposes of this <br />Article, the following words and phrases shall have the <br />meanings respectively ascribed thereto: <br />'Abate' means to repair, replace, remove, destroy or <br />otherwise remedy any nuisance described in Section 14.72 <br />found to exist by the enforcement officer. <br /> 1989 <br /> - ~.. .. <br />
