<br /> ""-'C : mmg 8 / 3 0 / 8 8 (#6) <br /> S:mmg 2/24/89R (#6) <br /> ORIGI NAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1987 <br /> --------- - - MAR - 6 1989 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE <br /> COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE BOARD OF <br /> ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' <br /> RETIREMENT SYSTEM, RELATING TO CERTAIN LOCAL SAFETY <br /> MEMBERS <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. That an amendment to the contract between the <br />Council of the City of Redwood City and the Board of <br />Administration, California Public Employees' Retirement System is <br />hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being attached <br />hereto, marked "Exhibit A", and by such reference made part <br />hereof as through herein set out in full. <br /> SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City of Redwood City is <br />hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said <br />amendment for and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> SECTION 3. This ordinance is hereby declared an <br />emergency measure and is hereby reconsidered for adoption (the <br />original date of adoption having been January 23, 1989) in order <br />to comply with the requirements of Government Code Section 20460. <br />The public peace, health and safety require that this ordinance <br />shall be effective immediately upon its second date of adoption, <br />which shall, and does hereby, supersede the original date of <br />adoption, for the reason that the effective date of the amendment <br />approved hereby is material consideration resulting from good <br />faith meet-and-confer negotiations with a recognized employee <br />organization under the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act (Government Code <br />§3500 et seq.). Accordingly, the amendment approved hereby shall <br />be effective from and after March 13, 1989. <br /> * * * <br /> .._-_....__.~.- <br />
