NOTICE INVITING BIDS <br />2016-2017 SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF BATTERY BACK-UP SYSTEMS 8 of 12 <br />NOTICE INVITING BIDS <br />SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF BATTERY BACK-UP SYSTEMS <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA <br />BID SPECIFICATION <br /> <br />The City of Redwood City (“City”) seeks a vendor to supply and install battery back-up systems <br />(BBS) at select signalized intersections in Redwood City. The City does not guarantee any minimum <br />or maximum quantity purchased, and may use other vendors if needed. <br /> <br />Price is to be F.O.B. destination, at each intersection specified. <br /> <br />Prices remain firm for the duration of the agreement. The agreement is expected to be a one-year <br />agreement. <br /> <br />GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Coordinate with City staff as to date and time for project start-up and completion. <br />B. Supply and install new external Tesco (or approved equal) BBS cabinets onto existing signal <br />cabinets. <br />C. Tesco (or approved equal) BBS cabinet will incorporate ambient temperature control and full <br />LED operation and genset. <br />D. Supply and install new Tesco (or approved equal) Model 2000VA Battery Back-Up System <br />onto cabinet enclosure. <br />E. Program new Tesco (or approved equal) 2000VA BBS to run intersection continuously in <br />case of temporary power failure <br />F. Check and verify proper voltages from existing PG&E Type-III electrical service <br />G. Make necessary connections as per current City and Cal-Trans standards <br />H. Test and verify proper operation of all newly installed Tesco (or approved equal) BBS <br />I. Clean up any associated debris around the work site <br />J. Contact and communicate with City of job completion <br />K. Notify City if there are any incandescent lamps in use at any of these intersections <br />L. Invoices: Vendor will invoice the City once a month at the end of the month for all intersection <br />installations completed during that month. <br />M. Business License: The successful Bidder that is awarded the agreement will be required to be <br />licensed in accordance with the City of Redwood City’s Business License Ordinance, <br />Municipal Code Chapter 32.101 through 32.156, entitled “Business Licenses”. Business <br />license information (application, ordinance, fees) can be found by navigating to the City of <br />Redwood City homepage (www.redwoodcity.org) and selecting “Business,” “Starting a <br />Business,” “Business Licensing.” <br /> <br />INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />Vendor must obtain and maintain for the duration of the agreement and any and all amendments, <br />insurance against claims for injuries to persons or damage to property which may arise out of or in <br />connection with performance of the Services by Vendor or Vendor’s agents, representatives, <br />employees or subcontractors. The insurance carrier is required to maintain an A.M. Best rating of <br />not less than “A-:VII”. <br /> <br />6.1.B. - Page 17
