The City <br />Council shall schedule a public hearing to be held no later <br />than thirty (30) days after the notice of appeal is filed <br />and shall render its decision no later than the next <br />regularly scheduled Council meeting after the close of said <br />hearing; provided, however, if the application for which the <br />appeal is being considered is for the demolition of a <br />designated historic landmark, or within a designated <br />historic district, the Council may continue its decision for <br />a period not to exceed sixty (60) days if it believes that <br />such additional time would contribute to the possible <br />preservation of such structure or landmark. At the public <br />hearing, the Council shall provide a reasonable opportunity <br />for all interested parties to express their opinions. The <br />City Clerk shall notify by mail all applicants for the <br />appeal and the owners and occupants of all properties <br />affected by said appeal, of the time and date set for such <br />public hearing. The aforementioned persons shall also be <br />notified by mail of the Council's decision on the appeal." <br />SECTION 8. Section 40.14 of the Redwood City Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 40.14. Duty to Keep in Good Repair. The <br />owner, occupant, or other person in actual charge of a <br />historic or cultural resource, or an improvement, building, <br />or structure in a historic district shall keep in good <br /> 10 <br /> _.
