SWC:sh 7/26/85
Additional mitigation measures include the possible widening of
Redwood Shores Parkway to four ( 4) lanes and reserving land along
Marine World Parkway for possible future widening to eight (8 )
lanes. Various intersections along Marine World Parkway will be
signalized, as suggested by the Traffic Study. In addition, in
order to further reduce traffic impacts at peak hours, and to
encourage the Developer to establish an aggressive transportation
system management program, the number of parking spaces in the
Project should be reduced in accordance with the Policy adopted
by the Planning Commission on April 16, 1985, in approving a
Planned Development Permit for the Marine World Executive Park
(which policy is described in the minutes of said meeting,
reference to which is made for the particulars thereof) . The
Developer shall be required to participate in mitigation of
off-site traffic impacts, if necessary as determined by the City,
which may be generated by the Project in excess of those
addressed by the foregoing policy.
(g) Actual approval authority of many of those changes or
alterations addressed in the Traffic Study, which would reduce
the effect of such traffic problems as are anticipated from the
Project and other eastside projects is exclusively within the
responsibility and jurisdiction of other public agencies
(specifically, The Department of Transportation of the State of
California and regional transportation planning agencies) and not
the City of Redwood City. Also, the cities of Belmont and San
Carlos will have a necessary voice in determination and approval
of measures necessary to mitigate such regional traffic impacts.
5
1917
--..
