Community Development Services Manager Patterson explained the closure was proposed <br />due to safety and efficiency concerns. <br />Public Comment: <br />Barbara Patterson opposed the closure. <br />Bob Baldwin opposed the closure and requested consideration of the impact with the light <br />at El Camino Real and Beech. <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br />M/S Pierce/Hartnett to extend the meeting to 11:44 p.m. The motion passed by a majority <br />vote with Council Member Ira voting no. <br />9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST — <br />C. City Trees: (213) <br />Mayor Ruskin explained the charge of the "City Trees" organization and requested <br />endorsement by resolution. <br />M/S to adopt RESOLUTION 14088 COMMENDING AND SUPPORTING "CITY <br />TREES" ORGANIZATION. <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br />D. Seniors and Health Care: (213) <br />Council Member Pierce gave an explanation of the need for the resolution and <br />requested it be sent to the pertinent legislators. <br />MIS Pierce /Hartnett to adopt RESOLUTION 14089 URGING ENACTMENT OF <br />FEDERAL AND STATE LEGISLATION ESTABLISHING EQUITABLE, ECONOMICAL, <br />AND EFFECTIVE HEALTH CARE SERVICES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS. <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br />E.
