·
"
(p. I £- 1-
, - We propose enforcing the "Quiet Zone" for members of the SCKT as the narrow
waterway and the water in front of the houses on the wide waterway and we will keep our
athletes as quiet as possible in these areas.
- We propose utilizing double boat reentry and shoreline reentry as first methods
of relaunching a boat and only using common docks that are owned by associations and
whose pennission we would seek prior to use in the event that a novice paddler capsizes
and would require the added convenience of a dock. Stanford Risk Management would
provide indemnification to these associations for the docks potential use in relaunching,
but we anticipate that we would use these docks very infrequently.
Additions as of Julv 22nd:
- W e propose that Redwood Shores Rowing and Paddling, a community
organization made up of residents of Redwood Shores that currently uses the enclosure
be guaranteed the ability to continue to use the enclosure into the future.
- To prevent possible bank breakdown we propose obtaining and using a floating
dock to launch our boats. The dock could be tied to the bridge pylons preventing any
impact to the park.
"
Addition as of Julv 26th:
I We propose to conduct training at the start of each quarter regarding the matters
addressed in this Request for Support, and to further post a sign at the enclosure as a
constant reminder of the rules.
End Additions.
We would further offer that these restrictions can be written into the permit if it will
help to better establish our commitment to staying within these limitations. We hope
to keep the dialogue between the Redwood Shores community and the SCKT both open
and collaborative.
Thank you very much for your time. We sincerely hope that you will be able to grant us
your support so that we can continue to build on our overall positive relationship with the
Redwood Shores Community.
a
--~. .-
