RESOLUTION NO. -)r,-79. 2415 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE <br />TOWN OF PORTOLA VALLEY AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION <br />OF A PUBLIC WORKS MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo and the cities in San Mateo County have <br />expressed a mutual interest in the establishment of a plan to encourage public works mutual aid <br />agreements; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that it would be in the Town's best <br />interest to participate in the Public Works Mutual Aid Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 8630 et seq. of the State of California Government Code <br />grants local agencies full power to provide mutual aid pursuant to established agreements; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town Council read and considered the Public Works Mutual Aid <br />Agreement with the County of San Mateo and other cities in San Mateo County at a duly <br />noticed public hearing. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of <br />Portola Valley as follows: <br />1. Any earlier agreement the Town may have entered into relative to public works mutual <br />aid, including but not limited to the agreement with the County of San Mateo dated June <br />14, 1994 is hereby revoked and rescinded, and any such agreement is null and void. <br />2. The Town Council approves and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the County of <br />San Mateo Public Works Mutual Aid Agreement dated May 29, 2015. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of <br />Portola Valley held on the 25th day of August, 2015. <br />Q <br />Jeff Aalfs/ayor I <br />ATTEST: <br />Sharon Hanlon, own Cler — <br />-I- <br />
