"Section 12.8 Wherever the following words appear in the Fire <br />Code, they shall be held to have the following meanings: <br />"(a) Wherever the word 'municipality' appears, it shall be held to <br />mean the City. <br />" (b) Wherever the words 'Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention' <br />appear, they shall be held to mean the Fire Marshal. <br />"(c) Wherever the word 'Administrator' appears, it shall be held to <br />mean the City Manager. <br />"Section 12.9 Section 1.103 of the Fire Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br />"'Section 1.103 SCOPE. <br />"'(a) The provisions of this Code shall supplement any and all laws <br />of this State relating to fire safety and shall apply to all persons <br />without restriction, unless specifically excepted. <br />"'(b) The provisions of this Code shall apply to existing <br />conditions as well as to conditions arising after the adoption thereof, <br />except that conditions legally in existence at the adoption of this Code <br />and not in strict compliance therewith shall be permitted to continue <br />only if, in the opinion of the Chief, thev do not constitute a distinct <br />hazard to life or property. <br />"'(c) The provisions of this Code shall be construed to be in <br />addition to all other requirements and no permit or license granted <br />hereunder shall be construed to permit a violation of any other ordinance <br />or regulation of the City.' <br />-2- <br />
