Approve warrants dated through December 11, 2000 and usual and necessary payments <br />through December 18, 2000; MINUTE ORDER 00 -351 <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present. <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (SEE SEPARATE MINUTES) <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST — <br />A. Consideration of Council Compensation; <br />Vice Mayor Claire gave the background and proposed a $50.00 per month increase to the <br />Council salary. <br />Public Comment: <br />Rudy Luca asked how many of the 550 City employees and comparison City Councils are <br />considered full -time. <br />Judy Buchan made the point that it has been 10 years and is time that the citizens value the <br />Council and the Council value themselves more. She stated she fully supported the action to <br />increase the salary. <br />James White supported an increase of Council compensation. <br />M/S Claire /Howard to increase the Council compensation by $50.00 per month effective <br />January 1, 2001 and refer back to the Personnel Committee for review and recommendations <br />on any more significant changes. <br />M/S Claire /Howard to withdraw the motion from consideration. <br />After some discussion, by consensus, Council continued consideration to the next available <br />Council meeting. MINUTE ORDER 00 -352 <br />B. Council Member Howard announced that the Fair Oaks Library, 2510 Middlefield Road, is <br />hosting an event on Friday, December 15 from 6:30 -9:00 p.m. sponsored by the Friends of <br />the Library. La Gran Posada includes children's activities, dancing, music and celebration <br />for the holidays. <br />9. STAFF REPORTS — None <br />A.
