RESOLUTION 14102 APPROVING GUIDELINES FOR THE DISBURSEMENT OF <br />FUNDS FOR CARRINGTON HALL RENOVATION AND AUTHORIZING <br />DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS; MINUTE ORDER 00 -353 <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br />10. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS — None <br />11. PUBLIC HEARING — <br />A. PUBLIC HEARING on Proposed Use of Citizens Option for Public Safety (COPS) funds <br />of $169,234 by the Redwood City Police Department; (706) <br />Sergeant Cesena detailed the recommendation for the COPS funds award. He stated the <br />recommendation is for this year's entire award be dedicated to the salaries and benefits of <br />the new police officer positions pursuant to the staffing study of 1997. <br />Mayor Ruskin opened the public hearing. <br />M/S Howard /Claire to close the public hearing. The motion passed by a unanimous voice <br />vote. <br />M/S Howard /Claire to approve by motion the Police Department's recommendation to <br />dedicate the funds to the salaries and benefits of the new police officer positions approved <br />by City Council pursuant to the staffing study. The motion passed by a unanimous voice <br />vote by those present. MINUTE ORDER 00 -354 <br />B. PUBLIC HEARING - Proposed Use of 2000 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant <br />(LLEBG) funds by the Redwood City Police Department; (505) <br />Sergeant Cesena explained this is the fifth consecutive year that the Police Department has <br />received funds for this program and is for $83,941.00. This grant money is recommended to <br />be applied toward law enforcement related equipment, including technological equipment, <br />and to provide training for law enforcement personnel. <br />Mayor Ruskin opened the public hearing. <br />M/S Howard/Ira to close the public hearing.
