Relative to the state as a whole, Redwood City <br />has a very highly educated labor force. The pro- <br />portion of workers with at least a bachelor’s de- <br />gree is significantly higher than in the state as a <br />whole. At the same time, it is comparable to the <br />County and Bay Area in terms of overall levels of <br />education. Located as it is in the heart of Silicon <br />Valley, this is hardly surprising. <br />Paradoxically, it also has a higher incidence <br />of individuals with less than a high school <br />diploma, about 16% of the population over age <br />25, whereas the same figure for the County is <br />12% and for the Bay Area as a whole, it is <br />13%.
