With regard to those with commutes of 90 min- <br />utes or longer, MegaCommuters, Redwood City <br />ranks among the worst geographies for its in- <br />coming workers. Out of 129 cities for which <br />data are available for 2015, Redwood City ranks <br />113th . Many nearby cities are close in the rank- <br />ings: San Jose (103), Santa Clara (111), Palo <br />Alto (119), and nearby Mountain View is last <br />(129). <br />The rapidly increasing commute times for those <br />working in the City and region are clearly a result <br />of the tight housing market. As housing becomes <br />more expensive, more and more workers move <br />to the surrounding counties to live, but they can <br />not take their jobs with them. <br />Figure 39:Rank: Share of MegaCommuters Across Similar Geographies <br />22
