Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program EXHIBIT B <br />Page 18 of 26 <br />ATTY/RESO.0042/CC RESO CALIFORNIA WAY WATER TANK, PUMP STATION AND PIPELINE PROJECT <br />REV: 05-03-17 PR df <br />Impact BIO-5: The proposed <br />project could damage trees to <br />be retained during project <br />construction. <br />Mitigation Measure BIO-5: The following <br />tree protection measures shall be included <br />in the project in order to protect trees to be <br />retained during construction: <br />• Damage to any tree during <br />construction shall be reported to the <br />City’s Landscape Architect, and <br />project contractors shall treat the <br />tree for damage in the manner <br />specified by the City’s Landscape <br />Architect. <br />• No construction equipment, <br />vehicles or materials shall be <br />stored, or parked within the tree <br />dripline. <br />• Cutting and filling around the base <br />of trees shall be done only after <br />consultation with the City <br />Landscape Architect and then only <br />to the extent authorized by the City <br />Landscape Architect. <br />• No waste construction materials or <br />wastewater shall be dumped on the <br />ground between the dripline and <br />the base of the tree or uphill from <br />any tree where certain substances <br />might reach the roots through a <br />leaching process. <br />Implementation: <br />The City shall <br />incorporate this <br />biology mitigation <br />measure into all <br />appropriate bid, <br />contract, and <br />engineering and site <br />plan (e.g. building, <br />grading, <br />improvement plans) <br />documents. <br />Timing: Prior to <br />any ground- <br />disturbing activities, <br />unless otherwise <br />specified. <br />Monitoring: The City’s <br />Engineering Division <br />shall review all <br />appropriate bid, <br />contract, and <br />engineering and site <br />(building, grading, <br />improvement plans) <br />documents for inclusion <br />of biological measures. <br />City shall conduct <br />inspections during <br />construction to ensure <br />tree protection measures <br />are maintained <br />throughout the <br />construction period. <br />Initials: <br />Date: 8.A. - Page 25
