WE';fì/'ErlT TO Cm!TRACT BET'dEEN THE DOAR~ or ADHINIST~ATIO~ PlJ?LIC H~PLOY¡::ES' RF:TIRE'1ENT SYSTEt-1 AND THE CITY COUNC IL OF TH S ~ ,_ l; I' CITY OF RED'./OOD CITY The Board of Administr3tion, Public Employees' Retirement System, herein- after referre:d to 2.5 Board, and the governing body of above public agency, hereinafter referrEd to 25 Public Aßency, h2ving entered into a contract under date of July 11, 1 '.)4 1 , effective July 1, 1941, ..and as amended effective July 1, 195J¡, AUßLOst 1 , 1959, January 1, 1967, April 1, 1969, JuJ,y 1 , 1971, Se ptember 1, 1971 , September 28. 1973, December 1, 1975, November 1, 1976, and July 1, 1979, which provides for participation of Public Agency in said System, Board and Public Agency hereby agree as follows: A. Paragraphs 1 through 9 are hereby stricken from said contract as executed effective July 1, 1979. and hereby replaced by the following paragraphs nLimbered 1 through 10 inclusive: 1. All words and ter~s used herein which are defined in the Public Employees I Retirement Law shall have the meaning as defined therein unless otherwise specifically provided. "Normal retirement age" shall mean age 60 for local miscellaneous and age 50 for local safety members. 2. Public Agency shall participate in the Public Employees' Retirement System from and after July 1, 1941 making its employees as hereinafter provided, members of said System subject to all provisions of the Public Employees' Re~irement Law except ~uch as apply only on election of a contracting agency and are not provided for herein and to all amendments to s~id Law hereafter enacted except such as by express provisions thereof apply only on the election of contracting agencies. 3. Employees of Public Agency in the following classes shall become members of said Retirement System except such in each such class as are excluded by law or this agreement: a. Local Firemen (herein referred to as local safety members); b. Local Policemen (herein referred to as local safety members); c. Employees other thån local safety members (herein referred to as local miscellaneous members). In addition to the classes of employees excluded ~om membership by 3~id Retirement Law, the following classes of employees shall not become members of said Retirement System: - ~ r .
