<br />California State Department of Water Resources on such <br />subject. <br /> "DIVISION 4. CERTIFICATION <br /> "Section 13.110. Certification for Building Permit. <br />No building permit shall be issued for the construction <br />of a new building or other structure, or for the enlargement <br />of an existing dwelling or structure unless the Health <br />Officer has certified in writing that the site for said <br />premises is served by a water supply that is potable, <br />adequate, and delivered under a consistent minimum pressure <br />of twenty (20) pounds per square inch. Building sites <br />served water by means of existing public utility systems <br />shall be exempt from the certification requirement imposed <br />by this Section. <br /> "ARTICLE V. BACKFLOW PREVENTION <br /> "DIVISION 1. DEFINITIONS <br /> "Section 13.115. Definitions. The following words <br />or phrases shall, for the purpose of this Article, have <br />the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this Section. <br /> " (a) Backflow Prevention Device. The term 'back- <br /> flow prevention device' shall mean a <br /> device incorporating two or more check <br /> valves and an automatically - operating <br /> differential relief valve located between <br /> said valves, two shut-off valves, and <br /> equipped with necessary test appurtenances, <br /> which, when properly constructed and <br /> installed, prevents cross-connections. <br /> " (b) Cross-Connection. The term 'cross- <br /> connection' shall mean any physical <br /> connection or arrangement between two <br /> otherwise separate piping systems, one <br /> of which contains potable water and the <br /> other of which contains water of unknown, <br /> questionable, or non-potable quality, <br /> whereby water may flow from one system <br /> to the other, irrespective of the direc- <br /> tion of flow between said systems. <br /> " (c) Person. The term 'person' shall mean <br /> -23- <br /> '.... <br />
